Ho Rang Yi Tae Kwon Do

In the 1960's, after General Choi was promoting Tae Kwon Do, his two appointed former students went to the West coast and East coast to oversee the American operations.  Master Chung Sun-do was in charge of the west, and he founded the Northwest Tae Kwon Do Federation.  Master Mike McDonald began training under Master Chung in 1970.  With hard work and perseverance, he received his black belt in 1972.

Master Mike McDonald established Ho Rang Yi (translated tiger) Tae Kwon Do in the old Puyallup YMCA, and it has been offering classes since.  Ho Rang Yi Tae Kwon Do has developed its own style of the martial art over the years, introducing a heavier concentration of hand techniques and self-defense than more traditional tae kwon do schools.
